In my family we grew up making tamales every Christmas with our mom. She would prepare the red chili, the green chili, and the masa. The whole family would all gather together and make the tamales. But she left us too soon so my sister and I took over the preparing. Now my siblings meet every year for a Tamalada and make about 500 tamales that we split up between the families. We look forward to this tradition and won’t ever let it go if any of us have a say about it.
When I became vegan a year ago and knew I needed to change up the recipe for myself and a few of us in the family that are vegan. I love the way they turned out, delicioso! If you would like to learn how to make tamales that are delicious AND healthy then please join us on Saturday November 10th. A class will be added Sunday November 11 if necessary so sign up early!
The price includes all supplies for the tamales. You will leave with the recipes and one each of the tamales you wrap! Plus we will sample some for lunch! Everyone’s welcome at the table! The Table of Gratitude!
